Joyful Ruins

Discovering joy in the hard places

The Healing at the Pool

John 5:7-9

“I can not get into the pool. People hold me back, get in my way, and push me aside.”

And Jesus says, “Well, that is not okay, so get up, pick up your mat, and walk. You do not need to go into the pool. ” (rephrased by me).

This is such a blessing from the Lord.

Sometimes things in our life are out of each or people shove us aside. An example could be, trying to move up in a job. You want that higher position, but you are not willing to push others aside to get it, because you are kind and want to treat them with love. Of course, the world on the other hand, tells you to do whatever you can to move up. So, naturally YOU are pushed aside.

Lucky for you, there’s something that ensures you will have joy and peace in all circumstances. You don’t have to fight your way to it, push people aside, walk thousands of miles, because Jesus meets yo right there.

He meets you as you stare longingly at the job position, watching others fight for it and get it. But, He looks at you and tells you, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk!”

He will take care of you in ALL circumstances.

You do not ave to fight to get the job or whatever else it is, because Jesus gives you exactly what you need. So live like a once paralyzed man healed, and get up, and walk!
