Joyful Ruins

I was trying to find a special verse to declare that God is more than enough for me. There are so many that declare this truth, yet none that stuck out to me in my imperfect human mind this morning.

I wanted something new and fresh, staggering even. But God’s truth stands alone as amazing whether it is new to me or not.

I simply started to think about God’s provision of food in the Bible and was blown away by how staggering His provision is!

In almost every instance, God doesn’t just provide enough food, but more than enough, so much, that people are not only well fed, but there are leftovers.

There we baskets of fish and loaves left over after feeding the thousands. Peter and others’ nets broke with the overflow of fish they caught. Elijah and the widow had only a handful of flour and olive oil, yet it was not used up, it did not run dry. Manna and quail came to the Israelites so they could have as much as they could eat and still more was left over!

If God provides more than enough food, will He not provide more than enough in ALL other areas of our life. Oh, ye of little faith. Help me in my unbelief Lord!
