Discovering joy in the hard places

Wonders of the Cross

It’s amazing to me

that even on the cross

You would hold Your arms out to me

in love and compassion

Even as You carried the sings of the world

You would willingly carry me close to Your heart

Even as You cried from the pain

You would wipe the tears from my face

And even as death separated You from this world

You would do it all again to be in relationship with me

I don’t desrve this

and yet I do not receive it on my own merit

how can I?

Your love covers the payment

Your love allows me to stand as a child of God

Your love frees me from every burden and chain

Your love puts shouts of joy in my mouth

and thanksgiving in my heart

Your love paid the price for me

so I could live this life for

and out of Your love
