Joyful Ruins

Discovering joy in the hard places

Wounded

God made me small

so I could see the small

Some were made as such

to feel insignificance

to experience hiddenness

It’s the wounded

that God uses

to see the things

the strong do not

It’s not that God wants hurt for us

but that He takes it

and uses it

to heal the world around us

Our wounds are different

and therefore

all the more beautiful

when we come together

and tell each other

the lessons we’ve learned from them

the gifts we have received

because that’s when God’s power

comes most alive for us

when we look at each other’s pain

and we’re able to see

that God was not gone

He was there

making all things new

It encourages our hearts

and brings beauty to the world

the broken world we live in

but which God shines through

the broken moments we live in

but which God shines through

these broken vessels we live in

but which God shines through
