Joyful Ruins

Discovering joy in the hard places

Rain

Written 2018:

Matthew 7:25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house. Yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

The rains, the streams, the beatings, surely left this house with some damage, a leaky roof at the least.

And when we are beaten (by insults and hardships), when we are rained upon (with depression, sorrow, loss), when the streams rise (with panic, anxiety, and stress), we will be effected.

Yet, we will not fall if our rock is Christ. And the firmer our foundation is, the firmer our relationship with Him, the firmer we take the beatings, rains, streams, knowing that they will be used to build us up stronger for the next storm.
