Each moment with you

is such a surprise

my assumptions get knocked down

judgements flipped on their sides

no other can compare

because it’s obvious you care

I’ve wanted someone to value my heart

but have found few who ask

and less who are patient enough to invest

and then you came

patient

genuinely interested

every word spoken or written

filled with sweetness

I am a bit taken back

not used to such treatment

so forgive me

if I take it for granted

I just have high expectations

and you are an unexpected one
