Joyful Ruins

Discovering joy in the hard places

Rewiring the Brain: Reminders to your Soul

All these days

when things feel hard

and the battle is at

its bloodiest

are when small things

hold great power

open your eyes

look up at the sky

feel the sunshine

listen

hear the birds sing

the dogs bark next door

hold yourself

breath

You’re alive

You’re beautiful

soak these up

savor these small gifts

though hard to do

each one

will see you through

this day of

trenches

and darkness

just reminders to your soul

that there is a place

not at war

where rest and safety

dwells

it is there for you

like looking at a photograph

of happier times

small glimpses

of a sweeter life

can encourage your soul

in the midst of the storm

that life will not be gray

forevermore
