Joyful Ruins

Discovering joy in the hard places

Consider the Birds

The bird knows what it’s made for

Contentedly it flies

And searches for its food

And never wonders why

It does the things it does

It was made to be a bird

It does not try to be anything

But what it was made for

Shall we take a note from it?

Shall we rest in how we’re made?

Let us choose to be ourselves

Knowing God did us create

Not concerned about our worth

Nor concerned about our days

Trusting in the Savior’s word

Trusting all His ways

We were made for certain things

Like the bird

to fly over the earth

Let us joyfully then find

What the Lord purposed since birth

Forget what others do

Remember who you are

God above has chosen you

Treasure in a broken jar

Nothing else you need

Rest in who He tells you to be

Always look to Him to lead

Then you’ll finally see
