Joyful Ruins

Those things which are hidden

are often the most valuable

and wonderful

think of the diamond

created from rock

hidden in an ordinary shell

or the depths of the ocean

which hold such treasures

of creatures and medicine

so much of which we have never seen

and remain a mystery

It’s true for animals

such as the snow leopard

majestic

powerful

reclusive

elusive

And if you feel hidden too

I want you to remember

that does not steal away your worth

purpose

beauty

nor does it name you unloved

The Hidden are Beloved

their hearts form specially

into rich places of creativity

and love

their minds

blossom

their eyes shine

the hidden learn

that it is enough

to be themselves

and to know that

God sees them
