Discovering joy in the hard places

Rewiring the Brain: Choosing to Heal

I wrote the below during a season of intense illness. The sickness was all I could focus on. I wrestled with feelings of guilt for not being as available to others. Here is something I wrote on one of those days:

I continue to think and feel like choosing to heal, as a priority, is a selfish act.

Let’s examine that.

What does God’s word tell us about choosing healing?

Choosing to heal leads directly to Jesus.

Choosing to heal is faith filled.

Choosing to heal leads to miracles.

Choosing to heal leads to forgiveness of sins.

Choosing to heal impacts the faith and lives around you.

Choosing to heal is an act of God’s kingdom.

Choosing to heal leads to great testimonies.

Choosing to heal is not selfish.

Choosing to heal, is choosing God’s will for you.

That is still hard for me to rewire my brain, but I choose to start to believe it today.
