Joyful Ruins

Discovering joy in the hard places

Silence and Christ

I think it is when

Your presence is felt the least

You are the most incarnate

because

the absence of being felt

is precisely

what You

Jesus

felt on the cross

and so

I can know

in the felt absence

there is no place

or space

season

or sin

that separates me

from Your love

Even if

it feels like

a desert

You never leave me

You cannot

so if I feel a lone

empty

silence

I can know

without a doubt

You are there
