Joyful Ruins

Discovering joy in the hard places

Unfinished and Reaching Back

I never thought I’d see this day

one of peace

one of rest

So many moments of

Will I make it?

of on my knees

crying

pleading

of I can’t see a light

So many days of barely

making it through

Those change you

They change you in a way

only you can understand

and probably still can’t

Perhaps only God really can

as He is the divine changer

in the midst of trials

He is the Molder

the Potter

He is the Protector in the furnace

the split the seamer

And now I am here

not at the end of healing

or at the end of the night

but i see the dawn

and I’m looking back

at you

I’m reaching my hand out

to help you through

your moments

I promise you

There is an end

but that won’t bring comfort now

just take one step at a time

and I’ll walk with you

I’ll be with you too

as long as your journey takes

and you’ll come to that day

where peace and rest

will fall on you

may you then

turn around too

  1. Your words inspire us to keep moving forward, to never give up on ourselves or each other, and to always seek the light even in the darkest of times. May we all be reminded that we are never alone in our struggles, and that there is always someone willing to walk alongside us on our journey.
