Joyful Ruins

Discovering joy in the hard places

Parts Work: Don’t Fight Yourself

I want to love the way I think

The flashes and images

The random insecurities

I don’t have to hate them

dismiss them

Each one is part of me

Each one belongs to me

The more I fight them

the more they fight back

If I treat them like monsters

they will act like monsters

but if I show them compassion

If I offer them love

A place to belong

they can transform

And the attention they clamor for

will be given freely

so they can release the fight

and know

they are welcome
