Joyful Ruins

Discovering joy in the hard places

Tell me your Story

This poured out of me today as I feel very compassionately towards people who feel alone, are suffering, forgotten, ignored.
This isn’t just a poem. It’s a true invitation. It’s an open ended, forever, authentic invitation to anyone who reads this to tell me your story, to know I am a presence of love and acceptance for you, not because I’m someone great, but because I feel this so strongly in my heart and bones and I have the ability to do this.

Tell me your story
Have you been heard?
Sing to me the notes
That have been hidden and silenced
Every word you say matters
Let me heal you in this way
Be in the presence of safety
And compassion
You need
Let me be a witness
To your pain
Your joy
Your most mundane thoughts
I want to welcome you
All of you
I do not want to change you
Let me be the one
Who tells you
And most of all
Shows you
Not on part of you
Is unloved
