I thought there was

one me

one true self

one true expression

I’ve been looking for you

all my life

that perfectly authentic self

But now I see

they are all me

All these parts and sides

All these layers

all these moments

The ugliest parts

the most beautiful parts

the say the silliest things part

The I want adventure

the lonely sad weepy parts

the hopeless romantic

the awkward I don’t know part

So many sides

So many layers

and they are all me

what a treasure trove

of discovery

I promise

to accept and love them all

And that’s the truest self I can be
