I’m not going to turn away from this

but I’m not going to torture myself with this either

I’m going to transform this over time

I’m going to let it tenderize any anger, bitterness, selfishness, perfectionism in me

I’m going to let it transition me into something new and different

I won’t let it terrify me

Instead

I’ll let it take me to new places

New faces

New meaning

New and fresh and deeper kindness

I’m going to let it touch those places inside me

the darkest places that need love and forgiveness

I am going to face the truths

and not give up on trusting

I’m taking this moment, this story, this trauma

I am owning it

turning it into testimony

I am not going to turn away from it
