Discovering joy in the hard places

Catch

If you can’t catch a break

perhaps you can catch

a dragonfly

dancing in the light

or a movie that you like

Maybe you will find

some laughter with a friend

or embrave a hug from your love

If you can’t catch a break from the world

take a break for yourself

Break the pain with breaking sunlight through the trees

or breaking freshed baked bread to eat

Break the pattern of self haye and worthlessness

When life won’t give you a break

I understand it is breaking

but there are still moments

people

things

put there

that offer the break you need
