Joyful Ruins

Discovering joy in the hard places

Broken Filter

It feels like

the filter inside me

is broken

Instead of filtering out

the bad

and letting the good

in

It seems like it

filters out

the good

and lets the bad

in

“The bad” far outweighs any good

“The bad” means something is wrong with me

even when the good is present

“The bad” defines

not the good

“The bad” knocks me down

but the good can’t lift me up

“The bad” pins me to the ground

and good can’t seem to make it let up

“The bad” wins

the good loses
