Why do we

as humans

seek to define ourselves

in one way?

Nature is so diverse

No tree is the same

and a flower is certainly different

than a bird

How did humanity

come to the idea

that we must all be

one size

one faith

one skin color

That there is only one way

to succeed

love

act

It is completely against

the natural way of things

So I tell you

any time

you are tempted

to compare

to chase whatever status quo

to believe you must think like them

Remember

they are a bird

you are a flower

she is water

he is rock

Each of us must listen and learn

what we are in this ecosystem

Embracing that

will bring wholeness and healing

to everyone
